Mike Jamison has been blessed with a diverse and long-running career in journalism and business for four decades. Mike was an award-winning sportswriter in the Knight-Ridder Newspapers chain for 16 years, with stops in Charlotte, Miami and Boca Raton, FL.
He was part of the Knight-Ridder team that created the first on-line news and information service in the United States. Known as "videotext" back then, the KRN product called Viewtron in the 1980's paved the way for what is now commonplace news and information dispersement on the Internet.
Mike left KRN in 1985 to earn his Series 7 brokerage license and become the public and investor relations director for the first publicly held company in harness racing, FERS, Inc. based in South Florida.
Three years later he launched the Florida Golf Reporter magazine, which became the official publication of the North and South Florida PGA sections, and the Florida State Golf Association.
He sold that title in 1991 and along with his wife Linda created one of the first golf-specialty PR and media relations companies in the golf industry, Jamison Golf Group, a firm that still serves various golf-related businesses today.
Also in 1991 he was a founder of the International Network of Golf, a media-based networking organization, Nineteen years later ING has earned a spot as one of golf's premier organizations. He still serves as Executive Director.
In 1997 Mike helped form what is now GolfOrlando, a destination marketing organization for golf courses in Central Florida. A year later he began a four-year stint as Executive Director of the Florida Golf Course Owners Association.
Nine years ago he co-founded Summertime Communications, a video production company that produces, among other products, a 30-minute golf TV show that has aired on Sun Sports Network in Florida for nine seasons.

Mike has been a member of the Golf Writers Association of America for 39 years. He is a member of Timacuan Golf Club in Lake Mary, FL, and could be a decent player if someone would teach him how to putt.
